ASJI Hosts USA Judo Coaching Certification Clinic

Thanks to all the Sensei’s, coaches and competitors who attended the USA Judo Coaching certification clinic this past Saturday hosted by ASJI (Arizona State Judo Inc.) and held at SWJA (Southwest Judo Academy).

Dr. Greg Moore, 2016 Rio Paralympic Judo Referee representing the US, provided an update and interpretation of the new 2017 IJF rules, while our SWJA Sensei Dave Faulkner, USA Judo AZ Coaching Clinician, and co-owner with Sensei Rich Moss of SWJA, 2016/17 USA Judo Junior World Team coach, both provided instruction on advanced drilling and training techniques being taught to our national and international competitors.  The information was valuable to both coaches and competitors alike.

The clinic was attended by almost 30 Sensei’s, coaches, and competitors who afterwards were able to register and apply for their annual USA Judo Coaching certification credentials permitting them access on the tournament floor to coach mat side.   USA Judo Coach Certification can be submitted for either USJA and USJF Coaching certification with an incremental annual fee.
