SWJA is proud of all our students who attend, learn and practice at our dojo to develop their judo techniques and skills. In recognition of their dedicated time and effort, students are awarded different colored belts as a visible symbol of their rank, experience and advancement. We are proud the following students were awarded higher belt ranks:
- Grace BiaPo Ikkyu (1st degree) Brown belt
- Davina Nomo Ikkyu (1st degree) Brown belt
- Yusef Houssni Ikkyu (1st degree) Purple belt
Promotion is based solely on the discretion of the Sensei, and includes a variety of qualifications: time in grade (how long a student has been at their current rank), techniques, terminology, tournament record, tradition and character, both on and off the mat.
Congratulations to Grace, Davina, and Yusef for their achievements. We look forward to them continuing to develop their judo and contributing back to this great sport.
